Barrett rider Liam Dale takes us through the second outing for the expanded Barrett Team... This round was a two race double pointer so our main aim was to take the maximum points and keep the bike upright with minimal risks taken.
I qualified in 7th and was happy with this but knew i was in a group with some fast lads so had my work cut out come race time.
In race one I finished in 7th. I was almost caught up in a three bike pile up on the first lap which I narrowly avoided and managed to work my way back up to 7th after loosing a handful of places early on.
In race two I also finished 7th. Lost a few places with a manic start and into the first corner got slightly bullied out towards the edge of the track which allowed the swarm to come through on the inner.
Last years best lap time around Oulton Park for myself was a 1 minute 49 seconds - This year i was into the low 1 minute 45 seconds so we are defiantly moving in the right direction.
This weekend means I pushed up from 9th to 7th overall in the championship after taking some good solid points across the weekend!
In comparison to the British Superbikes my time of a low 1minute 45 seconds would sit me roughly 16th - 20th on the Super Stock 600 British Superbike Class. This shows just how competitive the Thundersport Grids are in comparison to the top riders in tke U.K.
