State of the art AMADA PCSAW 430AX investment for Barrett Engineering Steel

08 February 2019

Barrett Engineering Steel are excited to announce they now have a state of the art AMADA PCSAW 430AX installed and operational at their site in Dudley.

This machine is just one of many investments made in the last couple of months by the Barrett Steel Limited group to ensure the best processing services for its customers across the UK.

The saw benefits from pulse cutting technology providing the ideal conditions for band sawing with Engineering Bar in Round or Square Material from 30mm to 430mm diameter cut easily, making it incredibly versatile for a range of grades.

The predefined pulsation of the blade in the feed direction generates a wave-like up-and-down motion that has a positive effect on the cutting behaviour of the saw teeth and at the same time, considerably reduces the cutting resistance.

Additional investment in an RT Conveyor feed also means that while the band saw is still cutting previous material, any remnant material can be changed over to a new job, significantly increasing utilisation of the saw.

Barrett Engineering Steel Managing Director David Reece commented, “It’s really positive to see continued investment from the Barrett Steel Group Board in the Engineering Division and shows the commitment we have to the market. The Amada 430AX has been fitted with an automated infeed which reduces manual handling and will improve efficiency by over 50%. This will lead to improvements in service levels and cutting accuracy combined with an excellent cut billet finish."

The Barrett Steel group is proud to supply high quality material and will continually invest in machinery ensuring we have the highest level of technology to process to your future requirements, efficiently, every time.
