Barrett Steel Truck to star in Convoy in the Park

Barrett Steel are proud to announce one of our new fleet will be heading to Donnington Park this weekend to star in the truck pull at Convoy in the Park with our drivier Reuben Gould. Rueben is a member of a group of truckers who have enjoyed raising money for various charities over the last three years and have to date raised over £20k for a selection of causes including Great Ormond Street Hospital, British Heart Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support among many others. 

They have also campaigned recently to raise money for defibrillators to be installed in a range of truck stops across the UK. In a bid to raise money for their chosen chairities the team have pulled trucks weighing up to 125 tonnes in support of their cause. 

Reuben commented on the weekends events " As a proud employee of Barrett Steel Services for about 13 years now, I have been given an opportunity by Barrett Steel, to take and show off my pride and joy at this years Donnington Park truck show.

You will be able to see her in action as she will be in the live events arena for 2 sessions per day as the truck that people can pull and I am delighted that we have the green light to use my truck that can be seen daily hammering the tarmac up and down the country."

Reuben and the team encourage you to attend this weekends event, bring your cameras and get involved in raising more funds for their chosen charities which this year will be Macmillan Cancer and Defibrillator Support. 

Now entering its third year, Convoy in the Park is already established as the UK’s biggest celebration of all things trucking, with ferocious on track action interspersed by a huge line-up of entertainment around the circuit, including massive showtruck displays, representations by all the leading truck manufacturers, live music and stunt shows including the legendary caravan smash!

Racing comes from the all-action British Truck Racing Association Championship, which features five-tonne, 1,000-horsepower goliaths going wheel to wheel in several races, while a busy support race package ensures there’s wall to wall action on circuit.

The many hundreds of show trucks lined up around the venue will feaure stunning examples and immaculately maintained machinery. For those that want a bit more 'go' they have US truck and artic lorry drives plus the famous Red Dragon monster truck rides running all weekend.

Live music has become a staple feature of Convoy in the Park, headline acts for the Saturday night include U2 and Queen tribute acts. The busy infield will also have kids entertainment areas, free 'The Greatest Showman' circus, trade stands and a funfair too.
