Callum said ‘’Testing on Friday was pretty good, I’ve never been round Silverstone before so was a fair challenge to learn the track to get to grips with the circuit in just 4 short test sessions to the point I felt reasonably comfortable. The first test session was very slippery as it had rained the night before so there was still some standing water and the track was quite wet, however after session 1 the track dried up and the grip started to come in. By the end of Friday it was clear the front running pace was approximately 1:18’s ish and I was in and around the 1:20’s so not too far off. Qualifying on Saturday morning I had a time of 1.20.7 which put me in 15^th place out of 22 cars, about half a second off the top 10. Race 1 I had a good getaway off the line and got past 2 cars but carried a little too much speed through the first few corners, so struggled for grip and the cars I passed made those places back up on me. I got back past one of them towards the end of the race to finish P14. Race 2 I had an even better start, passed 3 people off the line and was almost in the top 10, however on corner 3 of the first lap I was on the tighter, less grippy inside line, and I locked up the front wheels under breaking, causing some contact with another car which gave me a puncture and some suspension damage causing a DNF. Overall very positive, and some light repairs to do for Anglesey circuit in 3 weeks’ time.’’
