Cutting and Laser Services

Cutting

All of our depot sites across the UK are able to provide an in-house saw cutting service including semi automatic band saws and carbide saw cutting enabling us to deliver a fast and accurate service to meet your requirements.

In addition to our local site cutting we have a number of expansive central processing hubs across the length of the UK that cater for large scale and bulk processing. These sites house extensive and fully automated steel preservation, cutting and drilling lines. Meaning we can deliver across the UK on the largest of super structure projects.

In addition to our standard cutting and drilling our sites canalso offer bevelled, bundle, repetition, square and mitre cutting services on a wide range of structural sections, hollow sections and merchant bar products.

Laser Cutting

Our state-of-the-art on-site processing facilities include 11 tube lasers, including the Jumbo – the largest in the UK, and capable of controlling input lengths of 18 metres, and output lengths of 15 metres.

Tube lasers can save time compared to traditional manufacturing processes. Eliminate extra work by having weld preps finished using the laser and complete labour intensive processes in one pass. This eliminates jigs, fixtures, paper templates, clamps, rotabroaches, angle grinders and saw equipment and allows time to concentrate on more productive work.

LT Fiber Lasers

The new technology of the fiber laser offers significant advantages in terms of a wider range of materials that can be processed - among them highly-reflective materials such as copper, brass, stainless steel and aluminium.

We were the first steel stockholder to introduce processing systems of this kind to the UK. They are specifically designed and developed for cutting tubes and open profiles with the fibre laser source.

Benefits of these new systems include time saving, due to faster cutting speeds and a smoother cut surface on the finished products.

Reducing the number of processes needed with laser processing offers cost savings compared with traditional methods.
