We are immensely proud of Paula for achieving this significant milestone in her political career.

As a company deeply rooted in Great Yarmouth, we understand the importance of actively supporting and encouraging its employee’s involvement in civic responsibilities. We firmly believe that Paula’s election is a testament to the strength and calibre of our team.

A few words from Paula:

"It is an honour and a privilege to be the Mayor of the borough of Great Yarmouth for the 2024/25 municiple year. Throughout this period I am raising as much money as I can for three local charities that mean so much to me personally.

  1. Age Connected is a centre in Great Yarmouth for the over 50’s.  This provides a warm and welcoming environment with lots of fun activities for the 50 plus community which in turn helps to reduce isolation and loneliness. From Café connect, the donation station, the pantry, reminiscence club and the telephone befriending service there are many reasons for people to come along and feel part of the Age Connected family.
  2. The Great Yarmouth Stroke Group.  This wonderful group of people help to support stroke survivors live their best life possible.  Strokes can be life changing and very frustrating, but this group that meets on a weekly basis, provides a welcoming place despite how affected you have been by a stroke.  The members of this group understand what strokes can do and will help to support people through their recovery and beyond as well as supporting their carer’s.
  3. Shrublands Football Club.  This is a grassroots football club that range in age from our mini kickers groups through to our veterans team.  Supporting boys and girls in their football journeys through the years right through to the men’s and ladies teams.  Being a member of this club helps to create friendships, teamworking and builds community spirit as well as helping to keep fit.

If you would like to make a donation towards my charities please contact my team on Mayor@great-yarmouth.gov.uk"

Barrett Steel extends a heartfelt congratulations to Paula Waters on her remarkable achievement. We have no doubt that she will excel in her new role, bringing the same passion, dedication, and expertise that she demonstrates within our organisation.
