Handrail and Walkway Connectors

At Barrett Steel Balustrade and Walkways we can off a range of solutions that can help you simply join tubes on your handrail and walkway projects. The three most common ways to join tube are:

Splice Locks

Splice locks are the most effective and convenient method of butt joining tubular railings of the same diameter. These internal expansion connectors have been engineered so that they give the perfect non-slip joint that is completely flush and virtually unnoticeable.

Their unique design enables them to be inserted into the tube without the two halves separating.  Once the allen screw has been tightened the splice locks contacts the tube internally in four areas along the full length this ensures alignment and maximum strength.  Splice locks can only be used to join the same size diameter tubing.

Splice locks allow easy on site joints to be made and are ideally suited to situations where aesthetics and durability are of prime importance.

Dowels

Internal Dowel Tube Connectors, also called Tubular connectors, are reliable and resilient. They can also withstand many weather conditions making them perfect for projects surrounding water or water treatment.

150 Clamps - Inline Internal Tube Connectors

These are a straight fitting for joining tubes of the same size. Please note this fitting can only be used for 26.9mm tube with a wall thickness of 2.6mm and a 3.25mm wall thickness tube for 33.7mm, 42.4mm and 48.3mm (1”, 1 1/4” & 1 1/2” BS EN 10255, formerly BS 1387, medium weight) and must not be used as a load bearing joint, particularly for tensile loads.
