Hot formed square hollow sections, commonly abbreviated as SHS, are structural steel tubes with a square cross-section. During production, steel is heated to extremely high temperatures, making it malleable enough to be shaped into square profiles. This process allows for the creation of SHS with thicker walls and larger dimensions compared to cold formed alternatives.

They are commonly employed in large-scale construction projects, including high-rise buildings, bridges, and industrial structures. These sections are also ideal for use in offshore platforms, heavy machinery frames, and other applications that require substantial structural support.
