Round Bars - Steel Rounds

BS EN 10025-2 : 2004 - S275JR BS 970: PART 1 : 1983 070M20

Steel Round Bars (also known as Steel Rounds, Mild Steel Circular Bars, or Steel Rods) are long, cylindrical steel products with a circular cross-section and are made from low-carbon mild steel. These solid circular sections are used across the construction and engineering sectors. Unlike hollow sections, round bars provide consistent strength throughout their solid core, making them indispensable for high-durability mechanical parts, load-bearing pins, and structural reinforcement.

We stock a large range of round bars available for immediate off-the-shelf delivery using our own reliable and efficient nationwide transport fleet.

Primary Applications:

Mechanical Engineering: Essential for the fabrication of shafts, railings, stakes, axles, pins, and spindles.

Construction:Used as load-bearing elements, reinforcement rods, and connection pins.

Bespoke Fabrication: A versatile component for brackets and custom industrial assemblies.

General Facts
'General Steels' is our division for core structural profiles used in framing and fabrication. This includes: Universal Beams, Columns, Channels, Angles and Hollow Sections.
They are solid circular sections providing uniform strenght and high load-earing durability.
They are essential for machinery shafts, axles, pins, and spindles in engineering.
The industry standard grades for the merchant bar in the UK are S275JR and S355JR. S275Jr is the most common grade and most common choice for general welding and fabrication. S355JR is specified for the projects requiring a higher yield strength, allowing for a stonger structure without a significant increase in the weight of the steel.
