Barrett Engineering Steel Midlands stands as the largest site within the Engineering Steel division, spanning an impressive 210,000 square feet and boasting extensive stock of over 6000 tonnes of Carbon and Alloy, Bright, and Black Rolled materials. The facility is equipped with 7 automated saws, facilitating the precision cutting of stock up to 500mm in diameter. In 2023 6 new cranes were installed, contributing to the site's substantial modernisation project.
A crucial component of the operational efficiency is the presence of 7 dedicated vehicles that facilitate local and nationwide deliveries. These vehicles not only deliver to our customers but also play a vital role in supporting other depots by replenishing and assisting in maintaining optimal stock levels. Barrett Engineering Steel Division holds just under 15,000 tonnes of Engineering Bar Steel from 3mm dia. to 720mm dia. at 4 dedicated locations across the UK. Our sites can offer Collection as well as Next Day Delivery supplying material as bar lengths or cut pieces.
Our extensive stock range is managed by our Purchasing Team who ensure consistent levels of supply from our rigorously vetted, approved, and trusted steel mills. Whilst our divisional Technical team help maintain high standards throughout the supply chain and operationally across the Division as well as supporting with material queries and working with our commercial team and customers on more complex engineering steel requirements.
Dedicated Account Managers with industry experience and extensive technical knowledge are proud to work alongside customers offering tailored solutions to reduce costs while strengthening supply chains. Experienced in understanding the requirements of OEMs and their subcontractor suppliers we are able to offer a Just In Time service to improve cash flow as well as call off agreements for larger quantities of stock allowing customers to take advantage of mill sized orders.
