On Friday 28th September 2018, Barrett Steel took part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. It’s a charity close to many people’s hearts here at Barrett’s, as cancer has touched most people’s lives in all shapes and forms from personal battles to relatives and friends. Macmillan understand how cancer can affect people’s whole lives – from health to family and financially. The money raised helps Macmillan help people from when they are first diagnosed all the way through and whenever they are needed.
We hosted the event across our depots nationwide. We spanned the length a breath of the U.K. from Montrose, Scotland to as far south as Exeter. From as far east as Great Yarmouth all the way West to Newry, Northern Ireland. It was a fantastic morning with many people baking, eating and getting together to support such an amazing charity. There were in depot baking competitions, eating competitions, and raffle prizes.
We would like to thank everyone who got involved at their local depots who helped make the day a roaring success with a special thank you to all our customers and suppliers who donated or popped in to enjoy the morning with us.
We are happy to say that we have raised £3,468 for Macmillan. So far £13,729,214 has been raised for Macmillan around the U.K.
We are immensely proud that all our depots helped to achieve something very special, together!
