Following the announcement that administrators have been appointed to Barrett Steel Buildings Limited, the directors of Barrett Steel Limited wish to clarify that this company is not part of the Barrett Steel Limited Group.
Barrett Steel Limited is not in administration as it is in no way linked to the financial affairs of Barrett Steel Buildings Limited.
Barrett Steel Buildings Limited was previously part of the Barrett Steel Limited Group until it was demerged in 1994. It became financially independent of Barrett Steel Limited at that time. Barrett Steel Buildings Limited was acquired in 2007 by Barrett Structures Limited, a new company wholly independent of Barrett Steel Limited, its directors and management.
As a steel fabricator, Barrett Steel Buildings Limited has been a customer of Barrett Steel Limited, and in the past 12 months has represented approximately 1% of the turnover of the Barrett Steel Limited Group. The directors do not therefore believe that the potential loss of Barrett Steel Buildings Limited as a customer will have a material effect on the future results of Barrett Steel Limited.
