About Us
Barrett Precision Tubes was set up in 2004 when the technologically advanced and world-renowned Barrett Steel Group amalgamated two companies: Star Tubes, Elvington, and Tayside Tubes, Tockwith.
We are located at a site in Elvington, York and our customers now have the unrivalled advantage of knowing we have the solid backing of a leading global supplier of steel products and services, coupled with the benefits of the local, personalised and tailored service we have always provided.
Friendly, knowledgeable and highly experienced, our team of experts works in close partnership with our customers, overcoming challenges and finding the best solutions to ensure a project’s success.
Products
We hold stocks of over 2,000 tonnes of precision tubes at our Elvington site, as well as a diverse range of products including:
· Handrail and walkway products
· Tubeclamps
· Wrought iron components
· Q-rail stainless steel balustrading systems (available from group stocks)
As part of the Barrett Group, we can also rapidly source a full range of products and raw materials from other Barrett depots across the country.
Services
We are committed to continually improving the range and sophistication of the processing and manufacturing services we provide and are constantly adapting to meet our customers’ changing and developing requirements.
Our advanced LT651 tube laser removes the need to manufacture costly prototypes making it faster and more cost-effective to produce complex structures; design modifications can be made in seconds with the click of a mouse.
Our comprehensive in-house processing facilities also include:
· Five saws
· Drilling equipment
· Rumbling and de-burring machines
· A punch
Our saws enable us to process up to 25,000 cuts per shift, while our drilling equipment and off-site tube laser machines can produce large batch quantities of finished components quickly and cost-effectively. Samples for approval can also be quickly and easily produced.
As part of the Barrett Group, we also have access to the largest tube laser in the world, capable of processing up to 508mm o/d, 500mm x 300mm rectangles, and 400mm square hollow sections in lengths of up to 15 metres.
Our lead time for processing is a highly competitive 48 hours.
Through our commitment to provide the best quality customer service, we have also developed our specialised, user friendly online website ‘Steel Account’.
This system allows you to –
· Check your account balance
· Download proof of deliveries
· Retrieve test certificates
· Download invoices, statements and credit notes.

In-house transport fleet
We have our own transport fleet ranging from small delivery vans to articulated lorries able to carry up to 25 tonnes. This means you can be confident of rapid, reliable and cost-effective delivery to the exact location of your choice, wherever you are in the country.
